Flowers for April
(work in progress)

This is my challenge for the week, to move forward on this painting for April. She brings home fresh cut flowers every week, so I thought I'd return the favor and paint the flowers we so much enjoy in our home. Full circle right? We'll see how far I get, I've got a busy week in San Francisco finishing a project, but my design class is on spring break, so no teaching on Thursday. I feel I've got so much catching up to do with my art...I should be a lot further along at age 50 than I am.

  3. April and Lynda~ I've never painted a floral arrangement before so we'll see how it goes with this one. Thanks!

  4. I like the pure colors you are starting the flowers with - this should have a vibrant, glowing look when finished.

By the way, don't feel behind. I'm 29 and just starting in painting. You are leagues ahead.

  5. Jeremy, thanks, I guess we all can feel behind no matter at what age we find ourselves sometimes. I think a good night's sleep can really help one's own outlook on things!

  6. Every time my husband goes to Costco (1x per month) he brings back a bouquet of flowers for me. And every time I intend to paint them. Never do. I think I feel overwhelmed with all the information in a whole bouquet. So I applaud your determination. I'm looking forward to seeing it finished.

  7. Silvina~ When I go to Costco I bring back a giant package of toilet paper, your husband is far more romantic than me! And you're right about the info overload, this is a daunting task. Thanks for dropping by, good to see your blog updated again on my Blogroll.
