  2. Oooh so lovely and delicate. I love how you captured the light's refraction through the water.

  4. Oh my God, I love it! The rose looks as real as the one on my patio. Love the color with the background too! Can't wait for tomorrow.

  5. Thanks for your comments everyone. I'm finding it a little challenging photographing the painting with the texture of the canvas causing all kinds of highlights. Hopefully I'll figure it out before number 50!

  6. Beautiful Denny...so simple and I agree...some paintings just don't want to be photographed at all. I did a cupcake the other day and the reflection off the liquin has given it a funny gold glow...interesting. Did you say this was a painting a day project? Yippeee...

  8. April~That's happening to me too, the Liquin is making the painting super glossy and causing all kinds of havoc with the photography. I'm adding an extra layer of gesso to my canvas panels and sanding them down to smooth them out a bit more. Also going to use light diffusers on my lamps.

  10. Denny, I'm having exactly the same problem with texture, liquin, gloss. I independently decided I had to do another coat or two of gesso. I'm wondering if it was a good idea to cover the panels with canvas after all! Maybe linen would have been a better choice, or just gesso . . . Have you tried using wax in the mix?

  11. No, I have not used wax. But adding another thick coat of gesso and sanding has helped immensely. I'm having a much better experience with my painting today, I've seem to have hit the sweet spot between a smooth surface and toothy one. I think this one will photograph better...
